History

In October 2019, FRACHTbahn Traktion GmbH was founded by a group of investors led by Austrian industrialist Hans Peter Haselsteiner, on the initiative of industry experts Reinhard Bamberger, Jan Klima, and Ulrich Puz. From the outset, the focus was on providing high-quality and reliable traction services as a railway transport company (EVU) operating across Europe.

The deployment of our first “own” locomotive in October 2020 marked the beginning of an impressive success story: from start-up to a relevant player in Central European rail transport services in a short time. Our focus is on industry, trade, and consumers in Europe, and we are proud to be on the rails every week, providing environmentally friendly transport!

Our strategic vision—to gradually expand our low-CO₂ services to Italy and Eastern and Southeastern Europe—underlines our ambitious growth trajectory.
