Ulrich Puz was born in Vienna and graduated from the HTL for electrical engineering in Schellinggasse. After his civil service he studied cultural engineering and water management at the Vienna University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences. Following that, he first worked as a university assistant and later in an office for civil engineering. After a period at ASFINAG in the internal audit department, Ulrich Puz took over SCHIG mbH management in May 2010, managing as sole director starting February 2011. Since May 2020, Ulrich Puz has been spokesman of FRACHTbahn Traktion GmbH management. He received his doctorate from the Institute for Structural Engineering at the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences and completed his Executive Master (MBA) at the Vienna University of Economics and Business. He teaches in the railway department at FH St. Pölten and is a registered civil engineer. Ulrich Puz is married and has three sons.
After graduating in industrial and mechanical engineering, Volker Kohl started his professional career in the sales department of Rail Cargo Austria AG (ÖBB) as Key Account Manager. His five year employment there was followed by working as project manager at DHL Rail Austria. In his job roles as Head of Operations and Managing Director of TX Logistik Austria GmbH (from 2007 on) and then Managing Director of Lokomotion Austria GmbH (from 2014 on), Volker Kohl was able to gain a lot of experience in establishing and further developing internationally active railway transport companies. As Managing Director of FRACHTbahn Traktion GmbH, he has been responsible for the production division since June 2020. Volker Kohl is married and has two children.
Vienna-born Florian Kazalek is married and father of two sons. He studied business administration at the Vienna University of Economics and Business as well as in the United States. While being a diploma candidate, he worked for BMW AG in Germany and, after graduating from university in 2002, he started as project controller at BMW M GmbH in Munich. Four years later he moved back to Austria and made use of his experience in the automotive industry in order to switch to Magna International Europe AG. There he was a senior consultant and analyst for company evaluations and audits and later applied his business knowledge in functions in Magna´s non-automotive area. In 2009 Florian Kazalek decided to change the sector. He started as CFO at Austria´s first private passenger railway company WESTbahn Management GmbH, in the development of which he was significantly involved. In several companies of WESTbahn´s mother company Rail Holding AG, he continues to be responsible for finance, controlling and purchasing. Florian Kazalek has been managing director of FRACHTbahn Traktion GmbH since October 2019, in addition to his role at WESTbahn.
Manuel Heindl was born in Vienna. After completing his studies in logistics and transport management at the BFI Vienna University of Applied Sciences, he in 2009 started his professional career as Key Account Manager in the sales department of ChemFreight GmbH (Rail Cargo Austria AG (ÖBB)). Successively, he took over various sales tasks (including Key Account Manager, Team Coordinator, Deputy Department Manager) at Rail Cargo Austria AG (ÖBB) in the mineral oil and chemicals sectors. Since the operational start of FRACHTbahn Traktion GmbH in November 2019, Manuel Heindl has supported the team as Head of Sales. In addition to his profound industry-specific economic education, he can draw on far reaching experience in sales and international railway logistics.
